One of the main characteristics of the region are the charming fir forests that stretch out all over the region. There are many routes that will take visitors on lovely walks around the forests and mountains, from which you can enjoy some spectacular panoramic views of the greater area and the lake itself.

Around Lake Plastira are a lovely collection of small villages and towns, such as the forest village of Dryades. Each of these villages have with their own unique charm and beauty. These villages are perfect for visiting, providing visitors with a fascinating insight into the traditional and cultural heritage of them, as well as being an excellent way of exploring some of hidden jewels of the Lake Plastira and Karditsa regions.
